Academic Experiences 

In addition to providing therapy and testing services, Dr. Van Liew is an Assistant Professor of Behavioral Medicine, Medical Humanities, and Bioethics in the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Des Moines Univesrity. She has an active program of research including over 15 scientific publications, as well as over 30 presentations at  local and national conferences. She also has extensive teaching experience at the university-level.

Alternative Locations

Dr. Van Liew is a Staff Psychologist at the VA Central Iowa Health Care System.  She provides assessment and therapy services via telehealth on an interdisciplinary team in the geriatric primary care and geriatric-focused neurology clinic. These services are available to qaulified VA benefitiaries free of charge or under alternative billing and fee structures as a benefit to qaulified US Veterans and their families.
